Building A Successful Blog

Entracard StatsIt has officially been a little over a month since I moved from Blogger to my own domain, LifeofJustin.com. A lot of changes have taken effect and my blog is finally starting to take off and get consistent traffic.

I noticed that a few days ago my Alexa ranking was 2.7 million and yesterday it went up to around 1 million. Not a bad jump in such a short time. My one week average on Alexa this past week was 163,000 so that is something to keep me motivated. My goal was to have a website in the top 100,000 so I am confident that will happen at some point.

During the month of March, I have also been utilizing Entrecard. I must say, it has been a very helpful tool and has opened me up to a lot of other helpful websites. The system involves placing an Entrecard widget on your site, which can be seen on the top left of my blog. Other users that come to your site can drop their card at your site and this earns you a better rate when advertisers want to display their ad on your widget. You also earn credits for dropping your card on other sites which I have been doing a lot of. It is a great way to meet some new people and get some consistent traffic for free.

You can see above what my stats look like for Entrecard. As you can see, the most important numbers are the card drops on your site, and the organic clicks from Entrecard. On average, I have been receiving about 45 drops on my blog, and another 40 visitors from the Entrecard website. Not huge numbers, but still impressive for only being with the program since March 2nd.

The visitors of Life of Justin have come from all over the world in March. 52 countries to be exact. I have had visitors from 44 states here in the US, but still need 6 more to say I have had a reader from every one of then. Alaska, your one of them.

Here is a breakdown of the 10 most popular countries I have received traffic from this month and the number of visitors:

1. United States 674

2. Philippines 61

3. Canada 54

4. United Kingdom 30

5. Australia 22

6. Malaysia 21

7. Germany 14

8. Netherlands 10

9. Singapore 10

10.India 9

It is very impressive to see visitors from so many places. I hope to continue building this site and hope to reach out to even more visitors from around the world.

I just want to say thanks to all my readers and everyone that has commented on my blog. I appreciate the feedback and hope that you all enjoy reading my posts everyday!

Must say, very impressive for being a relatively new site. I wish I had the consistency you do to make post on a daily basis.

    Keep it up!

Good set of tips and I like the way you are going.
NZ does not feature in your top ten. that may change as your blog becomes bigger and better and I see it doing just that.
