I’m Off To Climb A Mountain

Mount Mitchell Is The Tallest Mount in the Eastern United States

It’s true…Florida is completely flat. Matter of fact, it’s almost impossible to find a hill, let alone a mountain to climb. So that’s why my girlfriend and I are hitting the road and heading up to North Carolina in a few hours.

For the first time in awhile, I plan on spending 6 full days in the wilderness with no access to the internet or a computer. It’s going to be a challenge but I feel the need to take a break from anything technology related. The only thing I’m bringing with me is my Nikon so I can snap some awesome pictures.

We’re hoping to climb to the summit of Mount Mitchell, which happens to be the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi. It’s been awhile since I climbed to the top of a mountain but I still remember my journey to the tallest peak in Arizona. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had to date.

I’ll be posting the photos I take as soon as I get back, so tune in next week.

Oh I can only imagine how 6 full days of no technology would affect me. When camping I still always have my computer, phone & digital camera :) But that’s used mostly in the evening when I get tired of the bugs outside and I get a little bored. But something tells me you won’t be bored because you’ll be too wore out to be bored from all that mountain climbing.

Have fun and be careful :)

Hi Justin, glad you could use my photo. In the interest of full disclosure, that photo was taken from Mt Mitchell (it’s a view from the top). When i look at the complete set, i realize that i don’t even have a photo of the mountain itself.
    Enjoy your hikes!
