Pedernales Falls State Park

DSC_0008

This past weekend, I went and checked out Pedernales Falls State Park. It’s located about an hour outside of Austin here in Texas. It’s made up of more than 5,000 acres of land and has a bunch hiking trails and camping areas.

Although the waterfalls weren’t what I was expecting, they were still cool to look at. It was also nice to get outside and do some hiking, especially in November. The leaves are starting to change colors so the scenery is pretty amazing.

An Experiment in Sleep deprivation

Want to catch up on work? I think I’ve found the solution. Don’t sleep. Ever.

Just kidding, that’s a horrible idea. However, I did stay up for over 35 hours straight over the last two days and managed to get a TON done. Quick Introduction

If you’ve never seen these before, they are a unique shoe made by Vibram. Vibram is most known for making the soles of popular hiking shoes. The reason they are so unique is because they feature five toe sections and fit much like a glove.

Texas Capitol Tour

Texas State Capitol

A few days ago, my girlfriend and I decided to take a walk to the Texas capitol building here in Austin. We’ve walked by it a few times but have never gone up close to it or inside to see what it looks like. So we decided to go in and check it out.

Outside The Capitol

The Capitol is an awesome looking building that really makes the Austin skyline. It reminds me a lot of Washington DC as well as Madison, Wisconsin. The top of the building looks the same, regardless of what side you are looking at.

Here’s a few pictures of the outside of the building:

Austin Hot Sauce Festival

(Photo Credit: basykes) Yesterday I went and checked out the 19th annual Austin Hot Sauce Festival. It was held at Waterloo Park, which is located downtown. As it turns out, it originally started as a contest between Austin and San Antonio for the best hot sauce. The event was free to the public and all […]
